Alberta Prairie Conservation Forum

AB, CANADA
PCF presenters are all professionals that have been working in the field of prairie conservation or a related discipline for many years.

The Prairie Conservation Forum was established in 1989 and is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting conservation of the rich native biodiversity in prairie and parkland environments in Alberta.  The vision of the PCF is that the biological diversity of native prairie and parkland ecosystems is secure under thoughtful and committed stewardship of all Albertans.  Three of the major outcomes we are working towards with our current 5-year action plan (2011-2015) are to maintain large native prairie and parkland landscapes, conserve connecting corridors for biodiversity, and protect isolated native habitats.  To focus activities around these three main outcomes, the PCF is working towards completing inventories and assessments of native biodiversity, sharing knowledge and fostering a dialogue around prairie conservation, and promoting stewardship of native prairie and parkland ecosystems.
